Accountancy firm Bishop Fleming, which has a major office in Bath, has signed up its 350th academy school client.
The addition of the Riviera Primary Academy Trust in Paignton bolsters Bishop Fleming’s position as one of the UK’s top three auditors for academy schools.
Riviera Primary Academy Trust director of finance Claire Shiers said: “Riviera Primary Academy Trust undertook a rigorous process to appoint accountants to support the management of the financial affairs of the Trust.
“From the initial contact with Bishop Fleming, when [partners] Pam Tuckett and Will Hanbury came along to meet our governors to the ongoing support, the trust has found Bishop Fleming to be both professional and responsive thus enabling the conversion process to run smoothly at a demanding time for the school and governors.
“Bishop Fleming continues to be supportive and pro-active, for example in the provision of topical training seminars.”
Bishop Fleming manager Pete Barretto said: “We recently held a series of academy seminars around the South West and West Midlands for finance governors/trustees and head teachers, as well as school business managers, finance directors and their teams. Over 150 schools, including Riviera Primary Academy Trust, attended to receive key information on financial efficiencies, the 2016 Benchmarking Survey highlights, unusual sector issues; and multi-academy trust inconsistencies."
Bishop Fleming partner and academy school specialist Pam Tuckett said: “We have continued to grow our academy team and I am very confident that we now provide academies and multi-academy trusts with the very best service that they can obtain anywhere in the UK.
“Schools that join us are joining a real family of clients who benefit from round-the-year service, including regular seminars, networking events, tailored information from blogs and newsletters, as well as a first-class compliance service."
Bishop Fleming also has offices in Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, Truro, and Worcester.
