The latest sector-specific business acceleration hub to bring together academia and industry from across the West of England is to be launched next month by the University of Bath.
The Advanced Engineering Business Acceleration Hub goes live on March 13 at an event in Bath’s Apex Hotel.
It follows the launch last year of the Digital Innovation Business Acceleration Hub (DBAH) and the Sustainable Technologies Business Acceleration Hub (STBAH).
All three take the form of a partnership with SETsquared, the world’s no. 1 university business accelerator, which is backed by the University of Bath.
The Advanced Engineering Business Acceleration Hub will run a programme of support for businesses across the region working in the automotive, aerospace, defence, maritime, energy and space fields.
As with the other two hubs, it is part funded through the EU European Development Fund. All three hubs aim to establish lasting research partnerships with the university – which is offering its expertise and facilities to work with businesses to undertake research, development and innovation.
It is hoped this will lead to the adoption and commercialisation of new products, services and technologies that will drive the sectors’ growth and productivity.
To mark the launch, the University of Bath is hosting an automotive industry network event to address the latest challenges within the automotive sector, with presentations, workshops and panel discussions.
Following this there will be a networking event and drinks reception.
