Bath-based change management consultancy Nine Feet Tall has unveiled ambitious expansion plans for 2025 after completing a record year in which it joined an international consultancy group, won a number of new clients and was recognised in industry awards.
The firm, which also celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, supports sectors including retail, housing, construction, manufacturing, legal and financial services, as well as charities and non-profit organisations.
Over the past 12 months its team has collectively volunteered 262 hours and raised more than £6,000 for charities and good causes, including the Bristol Youth Project, Bath homeless and foodbank charity Genesis Trust and Jessie May, the children’s hospice-at-home charity.
In addition, it began working with national organisations such as Pets at Home, Hotel Chocolat and brewing group Carlsberg Marston’s while partnering with Bath-based eyewear brand Inspecs among other local firms as well.
During the year it also joined international consultancy group Talan, which specialises in innovation and transformation by technology, and was recognised in a number of industry awards schemes.
Next year Nine Feet Tall, which also has offices in London and Manchester, plans to continue on its growth trajectory, taking on new international clients and growing its expert team of consultants, while staying true to its people-first culture.
Nine Feet Tall CEO Esther McMorris, pictured – who was named in this year’s Management Today Women in Leadership Power List – set up the business in 2004 with an ambition to create a change consultancy with employee wellbeing, inclusion and collaboration central to its values.
She said: “Over our 20 years in business, we’ve evolved into a trusted team of change-makers, steering over 250 transformation programmes and facilitating the growth of hundreds of organisations.
“This year has been an extraordinary one for us, not just because of our anniversary, awards won and business successes but, more importantly, because of the meaningful partnerships we’ve built with new and existing clients and partners.
“I’m hugely grateful for the continued trust of our clients and passion of the team that has developed the company to where we are today.”
Esther said that having started her business journey after studying at the University of Bath, it was important to her that Nine Feet Tall’s headquarters remained in Bath.
“We’re proud to work with businesses in and around the city, as well as dedicating time to local charities and good causes too,” she added.
Each employee is given two days volunteering leave a year, with colleagues supporting projects for local projects such as Bath’s Share and Repair charity shop.
During this year Nine Feet Tall has also continued its professional support for the public and third sectors, collaborating with Children’s Hospice South West, St Peter’s Hospice, DEFRA and the Internet Watch Foundation to deliver meaningful change.
The firm also marked two decades in business by being named in the Sunday Times Best Place to Work list, an accolade based on direct feedback from employees.
This helped it welcome 12 new team members during the year, including four consultants joining through its 9Start scheme, an internal training programme designed to nurture the next generation of transformation experts.
It also launched a ‘9Minutes’ video series offering bite-sized insights on transformation, interviewing experts in the field of change.
