ReBalance Bath, the wellbeing festival that aims to strengthen Bath’s status as the UK’s number one spa city, is to return next year following the success of the inaugural event this February.
The festival was launched to help position Bath as a ‘fun’ city with a strong emphasis on wellbeing and health built on its spa heritage while also creating activities for venues at a traditionally quiet time of year.
More than 150 events and activities were staged in February as part of the three-week programme, with 70-plus businesses and wellness practitioners taking part.
These attracted in excess of 1,000 participants and generated national press coverage in key titles such as The Telegraph and Conde Nast Traveller.
The second ReBalance festival will run from 25 January to 18 February, with an even more packed programme for residents and visitors to enjoy, including a wide range of free activities, workshops and taster sessions alongside luxury hotel packages and spa days.
There will also be a focus on family fun with child-friendly events planned for the half-term period.
New events for next year will include a ReBalancing Body Spa Day at Homewood Hotel at Freshford, Homegrown Healing Evenings at The Pig – near Bath at Hunstrete, Dream Odyssey VR meditation experiences at The Soul Spa and a wellbeing walk around the city with Bathscape Landscape Partnership.
Popular events returning for next year include laughter yoga with The Vitality Studio at The Roman Baths, a ReBalance Bath dance fiesta at Komedia, including a kids and family special, and ReBalance Bath jazz, soul & funk candle-lit evenings at Green Park Brasserie.
Bath BID chief executive Allison Herbert said: “We were delighted with how well the first ReBalance Bath was received.
“So many Bath businesses engaged with the festival by holding a fun, interesting event which meant we had an exciting, packed and varied programme.
“Footfall was up during a normally quiet period in the city and we gained a significant amount of local and national media publicity for the festival which really enhanced Bath’s reputation as being a centre for wellness and attracted visitors from all the UK – so there was no hesitation when deciding whether to invest in a second year.”
ReBalance 2024 will launch on 23 January with an event for businesses at Green Park Station in partnership with Bath Pizza Company and ReBalance Bath’s creative curator Bex Bridgford.
