Bath Ales’ Bounders cider has won an international award as it prepares to go on sale to thirsty music lovers at festivals this summer for the first time.
Medium-dry Bounders, which is made entirely from Somerset apples, secured a bronze medal at the coveted International Cider Challenge 2015.
The highly-acclaimed awards celebrate the best-tasting ciders from around the world. Winners are selected by an independent judging panel through blind tasting with each cider assessed according to taste, aroma and appearance. 
Bath Ales, based between Bath and Bristol at Warmley, said Bounders “impressed the judges with its smooth, refreshing flavour”.
Meanwhile, Bounders will make its debut at a number of music festivals this summer, including Let’s Rock Exeter, Cornbury Festival, Womad, South Gloucester Show, Greenbelt and Wonder Fields.
Bath Ales sales director Mark Harding said: “To be awarded a medal out of all the ciders that were submitted into the International Cider Challenge is an incredible achievement. With Bounders we’ve always given our customers a high-quality product which these awards recognise.
“More people are converting to Bounders as they are seeking a genuine alternative to mass-produced cider. Having Bounders on sale at this summer’s main music festivals will help spread the message to an even wider community.”
Bounders is available in bottle and on draught in Bath Ales’ pub estate and outlets across the South West. It sits alongside Bath Ales’ range of beers which includes its flagship Gem bitter, Barnsey, Dark Side, Wild Hare, Special Pale Ale and Ginger Hare.
