Bath’s Dyson Centre for Neo Natal Care and Batheaston Primary School are among the winners of awards recognising the South West’s best new architectural projects.
The two buildings will now go into the national Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Awards where later this year they will compete against other leading projects from across the UK.
The Dyson Centre scooped the award for Design and Innovation while Batheaston School collected the Community Benefit Award.
They were among 41 shortlisted contenders in four categories in the awards. The restoration of Tyntesfield House at Wraxall, Somerset, by National Trust, was named South West Project of the Year and also won the Building Conservation Award.
RICS South & West director Luay Al-Khatib said: “The South West has seen some world-class examples of development this year. We also offer a hearty well done to the highly-commended project teams as well as praise to all entrants for the passion, drive and commitment that they have clearly displayed in delivering their projects.”
Among the projects presented with a highly-commended award for design and innovation was the National Composite Centre on the Bristol & Bath Science Park-
The winners and highly commended project teams will each receive their awards at individual ceremonies at the project sites this summer.
