The key issues of transport and access are the themes for the second Bath Business Breakfast, which takes place next Friday, 3 May.

The quarterly events, which take the form of ‘fireside talks’, are hosted by the Bath Business Improvement District (BID), the independent initiative working to create a positive environment for businesses in the city centre.

They aim to bring businesses together to discuss in more detail important topics raised at last September’s Bath Business Conference.

On the panel for next week’s Bath Business Breakfast are:

John Mason, site director of Bath nightclub Labyrinth and previous owner of Midland Classic Bus Company,

Jessica Merritt-Johns, manager of Jolly’s department store,

Sophie Broadfield, executive director of sustainable communities at Bath & North East Somerset Council (B.&NES).

The discussion will be facilitated by Charles Brindley from Bath-based organisational change consultancy Active Thinking.

A Bath BID spokesperson said: “We know that this is an important issue for businesses and want to create a space where business views and, more importantly, suggestions can be aired and reported.

“Thoughts from this Business Breakfast will contribute towards wider discussions with colleagues at B&NES and the West of England Combined Authority.

“These conversations aim to unite us towards common goals and drive positive changes in the regional business environment, serving as catalysts for progress and shaping our future approach.”

The event takes place at 8am in The Forum Bath, 1A Forum Buildings, Bath BA1 1UG. Tickets, priced £12, include a healthy – or hearty – breakfast at Bath Forum Coffee House.

The first Bath Business Breakfast took place in January when staff wellbeing went under the spotlight.

Future events are scheduled for 6 September and 6 December.
