Staff wellbeing will go under the spotlight at a business breakfast in Bath next month, with a panel featuring two of the city’s most successful entrepreneurs.
The event, on 9 February, is being staged by Bath BID in partnership with Bath Forum. It is the first in a quarterly series linked to popular topics from the Bath Business Conference, which will feature local and inspirational business people.
It is also part of the ReBalance Bath Festival, which was launched to great success last year by Bath Business Improvement District (BID) as a way of strengthening the city’s status as the UK’s number one spa destination.
The event, which has the subtitle ‘The role of management in keeping staff happy’, will hear from Chris Chris May, the founding director of Bath specialist software house Mayden and author of Made Without Managers, and Richard Godfrey from Rocketmakers, multiple award winners for employee satisfaction.
Chris, pictured, founded Mayden 22 years ago in the aftermath of the dot.com crash and with a mission to create digital technology that changes what is possible for clinicians and patients.
The firm now employs 120 people, its leading digital care record system iaptus is now used in more than 100 NHS organisations across the UK.
Richard co-founded Rocketmakers in 2007 and it has since grown to employ around 60 people by helping large organisations innovate like start-ups and start-ups build enterprise-quality solutions.
Its clients include accountancy giant KPMG, the BBC and Nokia.
The discussion will be facilitated by Lucy Paine from TechSPARK, the information hub for all things tech in Bristol, Bath and the West of England, and the Bath Digital Festival.
The event takes place at 8am in The Forum Bath, 1A Forum Buildings, Bath, BA1 1UG. Tickets, priced£ 9.60 Incl. VAT, include a healthy – or hearty – breakfast at Bath Forum Coffee House.
