Businesses from across the region are being given an opportunity to get out of the office and network, entertain clients and have some fun at Bath Racecourse.
The first Business Raceday at the Lansdown course, on July 16, is hosted by Swindon communications group Excalibur in association with Bath Business News and what’s-on website Total Bath.
The day starts at noon with a drinks reception followed by a keynote address from John Cullum, former High Sheriff of Somerset and chairman of the Forever Friends appeal, the fundraising charity for the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
There will then be an auction with lots donated by Excalibur, Mulberry and Rolls-Royce as well as a digger experience from M J Church.
Excalibur, which provides landline, mobile and IT solutions, is also bringing in partner firms to set up interactive stations such as the Nokia Business Bus, a double-decker designed to reflect the main areas in the average business person’s life.
It boasts a fully-equipped boardroom, lounge area with X-box, kitchen and, of course, a Nokia demo station where guests can try out all the latest devices.
Also at the event will be Tech21, which supplies device cases using the unique D30 impactology material. Tech21 will demonstrate exactly how shock-proof its products are using a mallet and an expensive laptop.
Excalibur CEO James Phipps said: “We’re really looking forward to bringing businesses together at this first of its kind event for Bath.
“It’s a great opportunity for business people to network, enjoy the day and gain some new contacts. It’s all in aid of a very good cause too, so I’m hoping everyone will dig deep in supporting Forever Friends and the fantastic work they do at RUH.”
Bath racecourse commercial manager Jessica Lloyd said: “Research shows that teams think more creatively outside of their usual work places and we’re certainly offering a unique place to meet, mingle and do business. There will be opportunities to meet other professionals and interactive networking facilitated by Excalibur, all complimented by relaxed hospitality.”
