The project team tasked with bringing forward Bath City FC’s new stadium and community hub has been revealed – with many of the experts coming from the city.

The core team – which will work on the redevelopment of the club’s Twerton Park ground, pictured, and surrounding area – includes award-winning national architecture firm Stride Treglown, services and sustainability engineers BuroHappold and structural and civil engineers Momentum, all of which have Bath offices.

Also involved are property consultancy JLL, which will project manage the redevelopment from its Bristol office, and transport consultancy Phil Jones Associates, which also has a Bristol office.

Frank Whittle Partnership will join the team as specialist stadium consultants. The Preston firm has a wealth of experience working on sports grounds around the country.

Last October Bath City teamed up with London-based private investment company Greenacre Capital to jointly redevelop Twerton Park.

Greenacre, which works across property, independent living and clean energy, acquired the parade of shops on Twerton High Street, including McColls and the Co-op, and also a strip of land between this parade and the football club’s car park.

Under the scheme, part of Twerton Park will be demolished and replaced with new club and community facilities.

Bath City Football Club chair Nick Blofeld, pictured, said: “We are entering an exciting phase of the history of Bath City FC. Our proposals for a partial redevelopment of the ground and an upgrade of the facilities will not only benefit the club but also the wider Twerton community.

“We are determined to keep Bath City in the heart of Twerton and make it an integral part of the community.

“We are pleased to announce the technical team who will be working on this project and we are even more pleased that the team of professionals includes so many Bath-based firms, who will bring with them a unique insight and understanding of the area.”

Last May Bath City’s Supporters Society won a two-year battle to become its majority shareholder and transform it into a community-owned football club following a high-profile Big Bath City Bid campaign.
