Creativity, climate and collaboration are among the themes to be explored at this year’s Bath Digital Festival, which takes place next month.
The five-day long festival will bring people and tech together at venues across Bath to explore the city’s thriving digital scene through a series of engaging workshops, keynotes and panels.
Staged by TechSPARK, the information hub for all things tech in Bristol, Bath and the West of England, it will also provide the community with a platform to enable them to grow and develop their skills and build connections with local and national organisations.
Each day will have its own creative theme with Monday 10 July centred on curiosity, Tuesday 11 July showcasing creativity, Wednesday 12 July majoring on collaboration, and Thursday 13 July critical thinking & celebration, with climate taking centre stage on Friday 14 July.
The festival will feature insights from some of the UK's biggest tech names with sessions featuring Bath-based businesses including iO Academy, Rocketmakers, 3SG and Storm Consultancy as well as Bristol’s Ghyston.

TechSPARK Bath Community Manager Lucy Paine said: “We are really excited to be curating the Bath Digital Festival in 2023. Our key ask to the community is: What conversation are you going to start?
“There are keynote sessions, workshops, showcases and celebrations all in planning to ensure there is something for everyone.
“The festival will appeal to anyone working in, or interested in the digital and tech space including those looking to work in the industry. It’s going to be an amazing week.”
Among the sessions will be an emerging tech showcase and coding taster session on Monday and an open morning at Bath Spa University’s The Studio and a very timely look at the potential of AI and whether it can enhance the web design process on Tuesday.
Wednesday will include sessions on building your own CRM as well as a digital surgery workshop while Thursday evening will see the return to Bath of the SPARKies.
The highlight of the techSPARK calendar, the awards this year take place in Bath’s Parade Gardens. The 17 categories will shine a light on the very best people, products and businesses that make up the tech sector in Bristol, Bath and the broader West of England region.
TechSPARK managing director Ben Shorrock said: “Bath is techSPARK’s home, the place it all started for us, and we’re so pleased to be curating Bath Digital Festival this year.
“Expect the usual techSPARK flavour for the week. We’ll be bringing the brightest minds in South West tech together, facilitating valuable connections and building core relationships, all against the backdrop of an exciting festival.
“Thanks to the solid foundations of BDF, we know it’s set to be an awesome week full of sharing knowledge and we’re looking forward to putting a techSPARK spin on the festival.”
