An independent financial adviser for Chase de Vere in Bath has been included in a list of the next-generation leaders of the wealth management industry.
Simon Walshe, pictured, appears in the first cohort of PAM NextGen Leaders, which recognises the individuals destined for the top as the industry leaders of tomorrow.
Compiled by information and news service PAM Insight and thewealthnet, it takes into account factors such as the reputation and performance of the company the nominee works for, feedback from senior executives, trajectory of promotion or business development success and active involvement in promoting a good organisational culture.
Chase de Vere said Simon’s entry highlighted his “excellent progress” since joining the firm in an administration role in 2009 after achieving a first-class degree in Business Administration from the University of Bath.
He worked his way up quickly to become an independent financial adviser in 2012 and has since then gone from strength to strength.
He achieved Chartered Financial Planner and Fellowship status at age 28 and is now regarded as one of the very best qualified advisers in the country, providing comprehensive independent financial advice to individuals, and in particular to professionals such as doctors and other medical practitioners.
He has hosted numerous seminars and presentations for these professions on pensions and retirement planning, while also working on cases alongside local law and accountancy firms.
As well as passing qualifications in investment, pension, tax planning, mortgage, long-term care and equity release, he has also been recognised for his outstanding examination achievements.
He was presented with a double accolade by the Chartered Insurance Institute in 2013 for completing the best long-term care examination in the South West and for the best investment planning paper.
The following year he was presented with two further awards, this time for submitting the best entry in the South West for pension planning and also for the best overall completion of the Advanced Diploma qualification. In 2015 he won a further award for best completion for the Fellowship of the Personal Finance Society.
Simon also takes time out to help and support Chase de Vere colleagues, including mentoring a junior adviser for two years who, under Simon’s tutelage, was named as Best New Starter at last year’s Chase de Vere conference.
Chase de Vere chief executive officer Kathleen Gallagher said: “This recognition for Simon is absolutely deserved. He is highly qualified, provides exceptional advice and service to his clients and devotes time to supporting and mentoring colleagues, as they look to develop their own careers.
“With his focus on client service and personal development, together with his positive and supportive attitude, I have no doubt that Simon will be one of the leading lights of the financial advice industry for many years to come.”
Chase de Vere, which is backed by Swiss Life – one of Europe’s leading life assurance companies – provides independent financial advice and planning services for private individuals and businesses from its 17 offices across the UK.
