Bath-based Andrew Brownsword Hotels has become the latest major hospitality group to join a scheme that donates breaks in unsold rooms to volunteers nominated for their work with charities.
The 13 hotels in the collection, including The Bath Priory, will now offer accommodation that would otherwise remain empty to the Room to Reward partnership for deserving individuals.
Since its launch in 2015 almost 1,000 hotels have joined the scheme, which enables charities, community groups, grassroots sports clubs and other organisations that rely on volunteers to nominate their ‘hidden heroes’ for stays in member hotels.
So far more than 3,000 people have been nominated by 1,000-plus organisations for a well-earned break.
Andrew Brownsword Hotels CEO John Bradley said the family-owned group was delighted to get involved with such a good cause.
“It’s an easy thing for hotels to be part of and a great way of putting some of our unsold rooms to good use,” he added.
“We look forward to welcoming some inspirational volunteers to Andrew Brownsword properties soon.”
Room to Reward director Adam Terpening said: “Having such a prestigious hospitality group sign up is great news and a really significant step for us.
“We are enormously grateful to John and the whole team at Andrew Brownsword for their fantastic support.”
The Andrew Brownsword Hotels portfolio, which is owned by entrepreneur and former Bath Rugby owner Andrew Brownsword his wife Christina, includes the award-winning Gidleigh Park in Devon, the 900-year-old Amberley Castle in West Sussex, and the Sydney House Chelsea in London.
The properties are divided into two brands – Brownsword Hotels and the Abode group.
