Company directors in Bath are more likely to be young and female, according to a new report on diversity in the boardroom.
The city appears at number six in a new national league table for the number of directors aged under 25 and at number 10 for its number of women directors.
According to Duport.co.uk, which conducted the research, the diversity follows a record number of business start-ups in Bath last year, suggesting a vibrant local economy and dynamic set of entrepreneurs.
Duport.co.uk managing director Peter Valaitis said: “Bath is a really exciting place to set up a new business.
“There’s a wealth of talent and high tourist footfall due to its many cultural assets. More young and female directors should help keep the local economy vibrant and full of fresh ideas, which will strengthen the city’s position still further in years to come.”
Duport produces business confidence reports using information assimilated and analysed from public record data sources including Companies House, Office for National Statistics and Ordnance Survey.
Duport Associates register around 10,000 new companies each year through its Companies House approved software.
