A successful annual event sponsored by Bath law firm Stone King offering free advice to older people and their families is being moved to a larger venue.
The 4th Bath Later Life Show on June 21 will be the biggest yet and showcase the wide range of specialist services available across Bath and North East Somerset.
The free event – at the Bath Pavilion between 10am and 3.30pm – will feature informative presentations on some of the key legal, financial, health and care issues affecting older people. Topics to be discussed will range from choosing a care home and living with hearing loss to keeping fit and planned changes to care funding.
Local charities and organisations dedicated to supporting older people will also be on hand to provide specialist advice, including Action on Hearing Loss, Money Wise, Avonpark Retirement Villages, Bluebird Care and Old Mill Accountants and Financial Planners.
Head of Stone King’s trusts and estates team Alison Allen, pictured, said: “Many older people and their families have been left feeling confused and anxious about plans to overhaul the social care system. But help is at hand.
“The Later Life Show 2013 will offer up-to-date advice on care funding and a range of other issues affecting older residents – all under one roof. The fact that we have had to move this year's event to larger premises shows there is a huge demand for the specialist support on offer locally.”
