Bath is to be promoted as a prime location for international conferences, meetings and events at one of the top exhibitions for the global events industry as its key players look beyond Covid-19 to make bookings.
The annual IBTM World in Barcelona attracts a worldwide audience of conference, events and incentive travel planners.
Although this year’s event takes place virtually between December 8 and 10 due to the coronavirus pandemic, it will still enable buyers and exhibitors from around the world to connect, network and do business.
Bath will be jointly promoted with Bristol by Meet Bristol, part of that city’s destination management partnership Destination Bristol.
It will also point out to event organisers that the cities are just 10 minutes apart by train and that their complementary natures make them ideal destinations for conferences, events and incentive travel.
It will also showcase what the two cities have to offer to a global audience as well as promoting how they have adapted during the pandemic to provide client confidence when planning future events.
This virtual exhibition provides the opportunity to host up to 30 bespoke one-to-one meetings over its three days with buyers considering placing business in the South West.

Destination Bristol is a joint venture between Bristol City Council and Business West.
