The parent company of luxury hotel group The Hotel Collection, which owns Bath’s Combe Grove Manor Hotel, has gone into administration.

UK Group of Hotels, which operates 21 hotels across the UK, called in administrators Duff & Phelps to help re-finance the business. The move followed the end of the firm’s banking facilities in May.

All its hotels are continuing to operate as normal and all bookings are being honoured. Four-star Combe Grove Manor, off Brassknocker Hill, is an 18th century former country house in 69 acres of private gardens and woodland. Facilities include a health club with swimming pool, driving range, beauty room, tennis courts and a 2 AA rosette restaurant.

Other hotels in the group include The Lygon Arms, at Broadway in the Cotswolds, The Cheltenham Park Hotel and The Imperial Hotel in Torquay.

Duff & Phelps said in a statement: “UK Group of Hotels Plc has been placed into administration to assist the restructuring of banking facilities.

“None of the subsidiaries of the parent company are affected by this process and all hotels will continue their day to day operations as normal.

“All staff will retain their roles, existing bookings will be honoured and new bookings taken with no affect to customers’ statutory rights, as well as all supplier relationships continuing as previously.”

Leicestershire-based The Hotel Collection was rebranded from Puma Hotels earlier this year, Its hotels were operated by Barcelo until two years ago when the Spanish firm ended its lease agreement with the company.
