The Gainsborough Bath Spa has again been awarded three prestigious placings in the latest Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Travel Awards, which rank the world’s best hotels, resorts, cities, islands, airlines and cruise lines.
The five-star hotel was ranked second in Top UK Hotel Spas category, ninth in Top UK Holiday Hotels and also included in The World’s Top 100.
The results are an improvement on its placings in the same awards last year when it was ranked 10th in the UK’s Best Holiday Hotels and third in the Top UK Spa Hotels.
Upmarket magazine publisher Condé Nast’s annual Readers’ Travel Awards, now in their 21st year and the longest running of their kind, are among the most prestigious recognitions of excellence in the travel industry. They are commonly known as “the best of the best of travel”.
The awards are based on tens of thousands of comments on hotels and resorts from readers of Condé Nast’s Traveller magazine.
The winners will be celebrated in the October issue of Condé Nast Traveller as well as online.
The £35m, 99-room Gainsborough has won a string of awards since opening three years ago as Malaysian group YTL Hotels first in the UK.
Last year it won the Hotel of the Year (England) title at the 2017 AA Hospitality Awards, award while its restaurant has been confirmed as among the best in England. It was also named as the number one hotel in the UK outside of London, number two in Europe and number three in the world by readers of the US version of Condé Nast Traveler magazine.
