The site of a major town centre regeneration will host a craft beer and cider festival next month featuring up to 60 regional beers and ciders, plus street food and live music.

The event will be against the backdrop of the historic buildings at Innox Mills, the 10-acre brownfield site in Trowbridge set to become the Innox Quarter once development has been completed.

The Trowbridge Craft Beer and Cider Festival is the latest event to take place at Innox Mills and is part of plans by the site owners – also called Innox Mills – to foster a vibrant new quarter at the development.

The finished scheme will transform an area that once housed cloth mills and a Bowyer’s pork pie factory into a mixed-use quarter with food, leisure and retail space and open spaces as well as 300 homes.

Ideas also being explored include an independent cinema and a co-workspace hub. A planning application is due to submitted to Wiltshire Council.

The Craft Beer and Cider Festival will take place from Friday 27 – Monday 30 August, with Trowbridge-based DeCanter Mobile bar providing a range of alcoholic drinks, including gins and wines, plus soft drinks.

Innox Mills director Jonathan Dean said: “Whether catching up with friends during the day or enjoying the evening festival atmosphere, we hope the Craft Beer and Cider Festival gives people in Trowbridge and the surrounding area a chance to experience a taster of what’s to come at Innox Mills, while enjoying some of the best independent beers, ales and ciders from the region along with some of the local musical talent that the area has to offer.

“We’ve even got tasting notes on all drinks available to help our visitors choose what they’d like to try and really make the most of the experience.”

Previous event hosted at Innox Mills have included a car show, drive-in cinema, a successful Christmas Market and the year-old Innox Market.

The Craft Beer and Cider Festival will be a strictly over-18s event, with eight sessions across four days over the Bank Holiday weekend. The earlier sessions will run each day from 11:30am to 4pm, with the later sessions from 6pm – 10:30pm.

Event sponsors include Swindon-based Waste management and recycling firm Hills Waste Solutions and Trowbridge web design firm WebCreationUK.
