Regional accountancy firm Bishop Fleming’s payroll team are in the running for three prestigious national industry awards – going one better than last year.
The firm, which an office in Bath, was shortlisted twice in the 2019 National Annual Excellence Awards.
The much sought-after awards, which are hosted by the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals, are the longest running in the payroll industry.
This year the team, which delivers payroll, accounting, tax, advisory services to more than 900 businesses, charities, academies and individuals across the UK, is hoping for success in the same two categories as last year – Payroll Provider of The Year and Well-being and Employee Engagement – while also hoping to land the Project of the Year title.
The Payroll Provider of the Year Award recognises firms that provide the highest quality of service to clients and have a rigorous training and development programme for payroll staff in place, while the Well-being Award recognises payroll departments that have introduced initiatives within their organisation designed to improve the general health, wellbeing and financial awareness of their employees.
Bishop Fleming’s shortlisting for the Project of the Year title demonstrates the firm’s ability to move quickly to deliver a comprehensive furlough service, which enabled it to help its clients deal with the complexities of calculating furlough pay and then claim the grants.
Bishop Fleming payroll partner Will Hanbury, pictured, said: “I am absolutely delighted for the team that we have been shortlisted for three awards.
“After a challenging start to 2020, our team have been invaluable to our both or new and existing clients, ensuring the best guidance and service has been given during the global pandemic.
“Our shortlisting clearly demonstrates how we add significant extra value to our clients in managing their payroll and furlough administration, as well as ensuring our staff’s wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do.”
The winners of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals Annual Excellence Awards will be announced during the organisation’s annual conference on October 15.
Bishop Fleming employs around 370 people across its network of seven offices, which stretch from Truro to Worcester.
