West of England accountancy firm Bishop Fleming has been shortlisted in two categories in the prestigious annual British Accountancy Awards.
The firm, which has an office in Bath, is in the running for the Mid-Tier Firm of the Year award for the second year running and also for the Top 50 Audit Team of the Year.
The awards – regarded as among the most coveted in the sector – are staged by industry publication Accountancy Age. The 22 categories range from Large Firm of the Year to New Practitioner and Most Innovative Practice.
Bishop Fleming is lining up against seven other firms in the Mid-Tier category while it is one of four battling it out for the Top 50 Audit Team trophy.
Rival West accountancy firm Old Mill, which has offices in Melksham, Wells, Yeovil and Exeter, is shortlisted in the Most Innovative Practice (Mid-Tier) category.
Bishop Fleming managing partner Matthew Lee, pictured, said: “This is excellent news for the firm and was judged on how we have added significant value to our clients across all service areas, with our services having been fundamental in enabling our clients to achieve their business goals.
“The Top 50 Audit Team award is designed to recognise audit advice that has delivered the greatest measurable benefit to clients. Our shortlisting for this award was based on the judges’ view of how we have delivered innovation, a return on our clients’ investment, the quality of our audit advice, and the impact we have had on our clients’ businesses.”
The award winners will be announced at a black-tie event in London on November 29.
Bishop Fleming’s shortlistings coincide with the firm rising up the annual Accountancy Age list of Top 50 UK accountancy firms from number 36 to 33.
The firm’s expansion in Bath means it is also now the city’s largest accountancy practice with four partners and 42 staff. It also has offices in Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, Truro, and Worcester.
