Bath-based coding training provider iO Academy is launching a new course in data science and machine learning for software developers of all levels – from bootcamp graduates to senior engineers.
Data science and machine learning are set to become the most in-demand skills in the careers market over the next five years, with estimates that the sector could be worth as much as $103bn by 2027.
According to iO Academy, an ever-increasing demand for data insights to develop commercial applications, underpin academic research and fuel product innovation means there is a fantastic opportunity for software developers to advance their careers in this field.
Award-winning iO Academy was set up as a coding bootcamp in 2015 by Bath healthcare firm Mayden to train its own developers to sustain its growth.
Students taking part in iO Academy’s 12-week part-time new course, which starts in May, will learn all the practical skills needed to start a successful career in data science and machine learning, working with genuine data sets and applying them to real-world scenarios.
The curriculum is practically driven, with real exercises throughout, and is led by an industry expert trainer.
iO Academy lead Mike Oram said: “We’re really excited to launch this course in data science and machine learning.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for developers to take practical steps towards a career in an industry that is only going to grow. We can’t wait to meet the students in May.”
iO Academy is hosting an online Q & A session on 16 March at 6pm for anyone interested in finding out more about the course. To register, click here.
Originally known as Mayden Academy, iO Academy was launched by Mayden founder Chris May as an innovative solution to the UK-wide skills crisis that was impacting the business’s own need for new talent in a fast-growing business.
