Keynsham-based Almeda Facilities has won big at a national awards event that champions family businesses.
The firm secured the ‘Best Business to Work For’ and ‘Family Business of the Year’ titles for the South West at the National Family Business Awards.
The awards are acknowledged as the most sought after when it comes to celebrating the country’s most innovative and successful family firms.
Almeda, which employs more than 60 people, triumphed alongside businesses such as Pimlico Plumbers, superfoods firm Creative Nature and retailer Leekes.
Almeda offers facilities and property management services to an extensive list of blue-chip clients including English Heritage, Triodos Bank, UWE and Bristol’s Arnolfini art gallery.
Managing director Brady George said: “To be recognised nationally for two awards is a colossal achievement and demonstrates that we are leading the way both in our sector and as a family business.
“We have worked tirelessly to create a business where people can build a career and work in an environment that places emphasis on health and wellbeing.
“Almeda is ahead of the curve in that respect and it’s particularly rewarding to have won this award – we have a talented team here and everybody has played a part in making this achievement possible.”
Brady became managing director of Almeda in 2015, taking over from his father Gary, who set up the business in 2007.
The National Family Business Awards, previously known as the Red Ribbon Awards, were presented at a gala ceremony in London attended by more than 400 people.
