Two rapidly expanding firms have moved onto the Woodland Estate in Westbury as the business park’s reputation as a growth hub for regional companies goes from strength to strength.
The latest additions are Easy José Coffee, a speciality coffee company known for its quality products and ethical ethos, and site investigations and geotechnical services specialist Topdrill.
They have joined a host of other successful businesses on the park, including online wedding gift list firm Prezola, dress retailer Vestry Online and independent online book shop A Great Read.
Easy José Coffee has signed a 10-year deal with Bath-based estate landlord HPH Commercial Property on a 5,511sq ft unit.
The speciality coffee company was founded in 2010 by José Melim, pictured, after a decade of working in the catering industry across Europe. Using his background as a former barista champion and Speciality Coffee Association-qualified coffee trainer, José provides exceptional coffee, ethically sourced and fairly priced.
He said: “We spend time in-country working with coffee farming communities, investing in processes that produce a quality product.
“We also aim to cut the supply chain to its shortest length by working directly with farmers and community leaders. Once back in the UK we roast our coffee on the greenest roaster currently available on the market.”
The move to Westbury from the firm’s previous base at Hartley Farm, Winsley, has allowed the company to ramp up all areas of the business, including adding a coffee training school to its offer for trade clients and home enthusiasts.
José added: “We work with Conti espresso machinery and Compak grinders and we’re also now able to stock a wide selection of barista tools and other ancillary items such as hot chocolate and tea, so that we’re a one-stop shop for our clients, cutting delivery costs and adding value.”
HPH managing director Lindsay Holdoway said: “José and his team’s passion for coffee is evident in everything Easy José does. The company has firmly established itself as a market leader when it comes to excellent, ethically sourced coffee.”
Topdrill, which was established in 2006 and provides drilling services to assist with foundation design and other areas of construction, has signed a five-year lease with HPH on a 2,380 sq ft unit, which will act as a regional base employing seven people.
The firm uses a range of specialist rig equipment to perform site investigations for thousands of clients throughout the UK, providing detailed analysis to assist with a range of construction projects.
Traditionally working for a range of rail clients including VolkerFitzpatrick, Murphy, BCS Design and Amey, Topdrill has expanded its range of services and now works across a broader spectrum of industries.
Rotary operations manager Jack Marshall, pictured, said: “We have invested in up-to-date technology, allowing us to offer a comprehensive range of services to all of our clients. As a result, our business has continued to grow which is why we needed a new base for a team to operate from, serving predominantly Wales and the South West but with easy access to major transport routes to the rest of the UK.”
Carter Jonas acted as agents for HPH on both deals.
