The University of Bath’s commitment to fostering innovation and enterprise in the city will step up a gear next week when it hosts a major business show.
The two-day Bath & North East Somerset Business Show takes place in the university’s new School of Management next Tuesday and Wednesday, 27-28 June.
will feature exhibitions, workshops, forums and networking opportunities for the business community.
Topics to be covered include energy and business, the visitor economy, HR and people issues and climate, environment and sustainability, as well as social value and the digital world and cyberspace.
The show will embrace all businesses – from start-ups and micros through to small, medium enterprises, corporates and multinationals.
University of Bath director of external engagement Stephen Rangecroft said: “The university has a proud history of collaborating with businesses, fostering innovation, creating new business start-ups, and forming partnerships to address societal challenges.
“We have much to offer businesses of all sizes and are delighted to be hosting the Bath & North East Somerset Business Show.”
“We hope it will also increase awareness of how the university can partner with others in a shared ambition to increase regional prosperity and create sustainable growth.”
The university also has a strong track record in creating spin-out companies and sharing its research expertise with the business world.
Business support initiatives include knowledge transfer partnerships, which embed academic experts in companies to help entrepreneurs solve business or technological challenges, while other industrial collaborations include the university’s Institute for Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems (IAAPS), a world-leading centre of excellence supporting the transport industry in the transition to net zero.
