Hundreds of businesses are backing this year’s biggest-ever Bath Boules Week – and with less than a month to go organisers are preparing for an event like no other.

Dozens of Bath charities will benefit from the much-loved and massively popular event in Queen Square, which this year runs from June 10-18. On the programme will be parties, dinners, talks – including from Glastonbury festival founder Michael Eavis – food, music and football . . . plus some boules.

More than 450 Bath businesses have already pledged their involvement – with city-headquartered regional law firm Royds Withy King as headline sponsor.

Extra events take place over the eight days, including celebrity talks, a unique restaurant, parties and – as it coincides with the opening stages of the World Cup – a special screening of England’s first match.

Bath Boules event director Steph Dodd said: “This is Bath’s Summer Party: by Bath, for Bath – and it’s going to be utterly immense!

“Come along – there’ll be so much to do in Queen Square in Bath Boules Week! We’re thrilled with the range of events and can’t wait to start the party.

“Foodie fan? Come to Gordon Jones’ unique restaurant in the Square. Festivals fan? Nothing better in this Glasto-free year than Michael Eavis! Like rugby, food and parties? Flats’ Wildest Friday Night Party is unmissable!

“Fancy seeing the World Cup with friends? Join us for a special free screening of England v Tunisia.

“Anyone can come to the Bath Boules days Friday June 15-Sunday June 17 completely free! And every single event will raise money for local charities.”

Every year the Bath Boules raises thousands of pounds for local charities. In 2017, a staggering £50,235 was raised. The target in the four years to 2020 is £250,000.
