Nash Partnership, the Bath-headquartered planning, architecture, heritage and placemaking consultancy, has opened an office in London as it continues to win prestigious commissions in the capital and across the South East.
The firm, which also has a base in Bristol, said its new office, pictured, in Paddington reflected its growing portfolio of projects in the South East and would also support the further expansion of its wide residential offer in particular.
In London, the practice will focus on providing services for its prime residential, heritage/listed building and placemaking clients in particular.
The new office in Two Kingdom Street also reflected the firm’s commitment to sustainability, it said, as it is close to Paddington Station and so convenient to reach by train from Bath and Bristol.
Nash Partnership has also recently appointed a new director of sustainability, architect Paul Miller, to oversee its sustainability strategy and approach across projects and business operations alike.
Partner Daniel Lugsden said: “We have really enjoyed collaborating with our clients on some exciting and sensitive projects in and around London.
“Our passion for success on projects has seen our relationships grow with our clients and their contacts, so it was an organic move to open a base in London as our projects geographically expand.
“Our team can combine knowledge of the planning system, depth in heritage skills, meaningful sustainability moves, and flair for design for the best advice and design quality. Basically, we love what we do and share that energy across the team.”
Recent projects in London and the South East carried include:
Replacing an existing riverside property in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, with a new two-storey, five-bedroom home, with ancillary boathouse. The team also created a new inlet and private mooring and laid out a series of rills, ponds and swales to connect the building with the river.
Creating a prime residence in Epping Forest, Essex, by refurbishing and extending an existing six-bedroom home.
Replacing an existing five-bed residential property and outbuildings in Ringinglow in the green belt at Epping with a seven-bed dwelling with large basement and new extensive landscaping. Designed in the Arts & Crafts style, it has living and sleeping accommodation on the ground and upper levels as well as a gym, pool, spa, cinema and quirky games room.
Restoring the façade of a beautiful residential property in Paultons Square, Chelsea.
The comprehensive refurbishment of the Grade I listed Monkey Island Hotel, near Bray, Berkshire. The site’s location beside the Thames and in the green belt presented many planning challenges and physical constraints which needed to be addressed.
Founded in Bath 35 years ago, Nash Partnership has a team-focused, creative culture geared to working on small and large projects – from individual homes to large-scale urban regeneration projects. It opened its Bristol office in 2011.
