Four Bath businesses are showing their support for local carers by sponsoring the B&NES Carers’ Centre annual awards night.
Law firm Stone King, the headline sponsor of Celebrating Carers, has made a generous donation to enable the centre to recognise the unsung heroes in the local community.
The other three businesses – Minuteman Press Bath, Moneywise and Gerard Financial Services – will each sponsor an award at the event on October 9 at the Fry’s Club in Keynsham.
The Carers’ Centre supports more than 4,000 people who are carers in Bath and North East Somerset. It provides a wide range of free support services to carers and manages projects to actively seek out ‘hidden carers’ to access help, support and services.
The Celebrating Carers awards aim to recognise carers who have made contributions to their local community while managing a caring role, as well as community partners such as schools, businesses and volunteers who have gone the extra mile to help carers or the Carers’ Centre.
There are also two awards dedicated to young carers; an arts-based project and a ‘making a difference’ award.
Stone King partner Alison Allen said the firm was proud to support the Carer’s Centre by sponsoring Celebrating Carers.
“The awards ceremony gives us and the wider community a chance to recognise and say thank you to individual carers, both young and old, who take that extra step to support those in their local community.
“We will also be able to recognise organisations, such as schools, GP surgeries and businesses that help carers in their supporting role. Stone King has played a part in Bath’s community for over 200 years and the firm welcomes the opportunity to be a part of Celebrating Carers 2015.”
