Businesses have been given a rare opportunity to acquire Georgian properties converted to modern offices on one of Bath’s most sought-after squares.
The two former houses on Kingsmead Square – one of which was originally the Mayor of Bath’s home – have been put on the market by city-based property management company HPH.
The firm, itself based in Kingsmead Square, describes the area as the city’s “buzzing entertainment quarter” as it is close to the Theatre Royal and Odeon cinema complex as well as a large number of independent bars and cafes.
HPH said 7 Kingsmead Square, the former Mayor of Bath’s house, pictured, offered an unusual chance to grow a business in a historic and revitalised workspace in an exciting part of the city.
The 1,900 sq ft office is available as a “striking top-to-bottom workspace that combines refined historic features and proportions with high-end contemporary functionality,” HPH said.
It also offered an opportunity to design a layout that suits a contemporary business needing to balance creativity and focus.
The building overlooks Kingsmead Square, giving it “an enviable, finger-on-the-pulse location that will attract staff and define a business’s brand”.
HPH added: “From collaborative workspaces to meeting rooms and breakout areas, every part of the building can be optimised for both productivity and comfort.
“It has been a long time since a whole building was last available at Kingsmead Square.”
The second Georgian building, 11a Kingsmead Square, has 860 sq ft of office space and has also been thoughtfully refurbished to provide a comfortable and creative atmosphere and, unusually for a building of its age, includes a four-person lift.
HPH managing director Lindsay Holdoway said: “Kingsmead Square has a unique energy, even in a city full of attractive locations.
“These spaces offer a genuine opportunity for businesses to set themselves apart with an office full of character in a lively area full of amenities.
“The offices are newly refurbished to a high specification with an emphasis on energy efficiency and environmental performance, and we believe they are an ideal setting for companies to drive their growth.”
HPH, which owns and manages both buildings, specialises in sustainable workspaces and industrial, office and retail space across the South West, with major property holdings in Bath, Westbury and Chippenham.
