Epoch, the Bath-based wealth management firm, has donated a total of £10,000 to good causes this year and has plans in place to donate a further £4,000 by the end of March.
The firm has a pledge to give a percentage of its annual profits to charity and this year’s beneficiaries include the Lewis Moody Foundation, which has received a £5,000 donation.
The charity was set up by former Bath Rugby star and England Rugby World Cup winner Lewis Moody to help young people living with a life-threatening illness and their families.
Epoch has also donated money to the Bristol Royal Infirmary’s intensive care unit and is indirectly supporting other fundraising initiatives in aid of a community development in Malawi as well as the Great Western Air Ambulance.
Staff members at Epoch are also doing their bit for charity. PA Helen Witcombe is raising much-needed funds for Children’s Hospice South West by trekking to the Everest base camp next year.
And the firm’s head of business development and marketing Tom Annear has completed his training with Mentoring Plus to become a volunteer mentor to a vulnerable young person.
Epoch managing partner Barry Newbury, pictured, said: “We’re proud to be able to support the Lewis Moody Foundation, which does such great work helping people with life-threatening conditions, and some other fantastic organisations. It’s also heartening to see individual members of staff giving up their time to help others.
“One of the great benefits of running a successful firm is that we are in a position to help support people who are battling serious illness and struggling in life.”
Epoch offers a full spectrum of services ranging from traditional portfolio management for individuals to specialist investment and tax planning for corporate clients including businesses, trusts and charities.
