Bath law firm Mowbray Woodwards is celebrating the success of Samantha Taylor, who has just qualified as a chartered legal executive.
Samantha, pictured, joined Mowbray Woodwards in 2013 as a trainee chartered legal executive to work in its private client team specialising in wills, probate and estate planning, estate administration and lasting powers of attorney.
In her time at the firm she has successfully combined her day-to-day work responsibilities, which have involved dealing with a variety of estates including high net worth and complex matters, with her legal studies to complete her post-graduate diploma in law.
Samantha’s success in becoming a Fellow of CILEx comes at a record-breaking time for the organization, which is celebrating its highest number of graduates in its 53-year history.
CILEx offers a unique route to a legal career and becoming a qualified lawyer without the requirement to have a degree, although graduates can also qualify as a lawyer through the CILEx route.
The Institute’s president Martin Callan told graduates: “You have more opportunities open to you now than ever before. You can practise independently in any area of law, you can become a partner in your firm, or even set up your own, and if you want to you can progress to become a judge. Work hard, be adaptable, stay ahead of the curve, and aim high.”
Mowbray Woodward partner David Whitworth, who heads its private client team, said: “This is thoroughly deserved. Sam has worked extremely hard over the last few years studying for her exams and putting together an extensive portfolio and I am delighted that she has achieved this qualification.”
