Accountancy firm Bishop Fleming has strengthened its Bath office following recent client wins.

Scott Woolley has been appointed to the tax department while accounting technician Julia Dickens has joined the business services team. Both will now train to become Chartered Accountants.

Samantha Ford and Paul Smith have recently completed their training to become chartered accountants and, following in their path as part of Bishop Fleming’s graduate training scheme are Liam Rose, Liam Taylor, Taylor Bullock and Joe Coghlan – all new recruits in the firm’s audit team.

The latest recruits bring the total number of trainee chartered accountants in the office to eight.

Bath office partner-in-charge Andrew Sandiford said the firm’s deep understanding of the owner-managed sector, including the need for a local presence, were behind its continued success.

“The last few months saw us win a number of new clients, ranging from businesses with several hundred employees to smaller enterprises of just a few people,” he said.

“This increased demand for our services gave us a great opportunity to bolster our Bath-based team and I am delighted with the high-calibre of people we have attracted to join us. We shall continue to strengthen our Bath team over the coming months.

“At a time when many professional services firms are scaling back their operations, the fact we continue to win new clients and are recruiting in order to meet that growth is testament to the breadth and depth of expertise we have here in the city.”

The Bath office’s performance mirrors Bishop Fleming’s overall performance as one of the UK’s fastest-growing accountancy firms.

The firm, which also has offices in Bristol, Bath, Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, Truro and Worcester, has been named as Britain’s fastest-growing Top 40 full service accountancy firm for two years running by Accountancy Age.
