Businesses are being invited to take part in the annual Bath City Conference, which acts as a showcase for the area and an opportunity for the public, social enterprises and community groups to discuss key issues.
The day-long event in The Guildhall on April 30 will include an exhibition, workshops and fringe events.
A spokesman for Bath & North East Somerset Council, which is staging the conference, said: “The aim of the day is to engage with the people of Bath – whether they live in, work in, or visit the city. We want to discover what they think and what they value in the city.”
The Guildhall’s banqueting room will be used by a broad range of local businesses, community groups, charities, social enterprises, public organisations and council departments to showcase their services.
The Aix-on-Provence room will become the Consultation Café where attendees will be able discuss key issues over food and drinks.
Workshops and fringe events will be bookable by the hour and the organisers are looking at ways for the people of Bath to debate the important issues affecting the city.
Council leader Paul Crossley said: “This is an excellent opportunity for people to engage in the future of their community. Bath & North East Somerset Council has developed an exciting range of talks and presentations that will inform and raise awareness of how we are working with local communities and partners to make our area the place to live, work, and visit in the UK.”
Deputy leader David Dixon added: “The event last year was very successful with hundreds of people coming through the doors to get involved in the future of their area. I hope that people can take the time once again to visit the conference.”
Further details are to be released over the coming weeks. Anyone interested in booking space for the event can use this Book Online Link. There is limited space and the organisers are looking to include a good mix of interested parties.
