An innovative digital tool that gives previews of yet-to-be-built residential schemes to prospective homebuyers has been launched by Bath-headquartered housing association and developer Curo.
The state-of-the-art digital kiosks, pictured, installed in Curo’s Combe Down marketing suite, utilise the latest digital technology to create stunning life-like 3D renders of planned developments.
Curo, best known in Bath for its flagship 700-home Mulberry Park development on former MoD land on the city’s outskirts, said the kiosks allowed homebuyers the chance to preview a range of house types, gardens and street scenes at their leisure.
The technology was unveiled at a recent private event to celebrate the upcoming launch of Curo’s Keyford Meadows development on the outskirts of Frome.
The scheme will include 139 homes for sale, 47 for social rent and 12 for shared ownership under the affordable homeownership scheme.
The properties will range from one-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom family houses, in response to the local demand for housing, while the development will also include two hectares of wildlife habitat and green open space, including two play areas.
Hosted by the Curo sales team, the launch event allowed attendees to ‘view’ the properties and the wider new neighbourhood ahead of is physical launch later this month.
Curo sales manager Jodie Winter said: “We are delighted to offer this cutting-edge, new technology for our customers. showcasing our stunning homes in an easily accessible format has made the ordeal of moving houses that much simpler for prospective buyers.
“By limiting our printed materials and turning to immersive new technology, we are turning the househunting process into an experience – while keeping the sustainability ethos that runs so strongly through our Keyford Meadows development close to heart.”
Curo manages more than 13,000 homes and is builds hundreds of new properties a year. Last year it secured £160.4m in partnership with an Essex-based housing association to build nearly 2,500 homes over the next five years under the government’s latest Affordable Homes Programme.
