Bath-based housing association and housebuilder Curo has been shortlisted for two national awards in recognition of the success of its sales team and its Mulberry Park flagship development.
The sales team are finalists in the ‘Home Ownership Team of the Year’ category of the National Housing Awards while Mulberry Park is in the running to be named ‘Best Large Development’.
The awards, staged by the National Housing Federation (NHF) recognise excellence, innovation and creativity in the housing sector.
So far 84 families have moved to Mulberry Park, pictured, Curo’s flagship development of 700 homes, open spaces and community facilities on the former Foxhill MoD site on the outskirts of Bath.
Curo sales director Lisa Howells said: “We’re delighted to have been nominated in two categories this year. Our customers are at the very heart of everything we do and we’re proud to help many families each year find their perfect home.
“Our sales people are experts in all housing products and schemes available, supporting customers through the process to homeownership whether they are at the start of their journey or looking to move up the property ladder.
“Housing associations are making a positive contribution to delivering new homes across all tenures.”
She said a recent report by property agency Savills confirmed that Curo was outselling its competitors in Bath, including national housebuilders, which she described as “another endorsement of our ‘profit for purpose’ approach.”
Curo Construction operations director Jonathan Poole added: “We build high-quality, energy-efficient homes and we strive to use the latest housebuilding technologies for the benefit of customers. All homes at Mulberry Park are designed to ensure energy efficiency and low running costs for residents, incorporating features such as low-energy lamps and built-in USB chargers as standard.”
Curo, which manages more than 13,000 homes and build hundreds of new homes a year, is to construct its first certified Passivhaus homes – ultra-low energy, close-to-zero carbon status properties that require little energy for space heating or cooling – in the third phase of the Mulberry Park.
The National Housing Awards shortlistings are the third for Mulberry Park this year. It is a finalist in the ‘Best design for three storeys or fewer’ category at the upcoming Housebuilder Awards and also won a Bath Life Award in March in the property category
Winners for the National Housing Awards will be announced at a gala dinner in London on September 6.
