Future, the Bath-based media group, has extended its range of photography titles with the launch of a website that includes advice for those taking images on their smartphones and from drones.
Future said DigitalCameraWorld.com would be a global website dedicated to helping photographers of all skill levels improve their images, buy the best gear and get inspired by other photographers.
It has been created by the experts behind the world’s market-leading photography magazines and will feature content from Future’s award-winning titles such as Digital Camera, PhotoPlus, N-Photo, Professional Photography and Digital Photographer.
As well as advice for digital camera owners, the site will feature reviews and tutorials covering new and emerging areas of imaging.
Future said the content would be as relevant for those using drones, camera phones and Instagram, as it is for those who favour interchangeable lens or mirrorless cameras.
The launch follows Future’s announcement last week that it is to expand into the fast-growing self-build housing market with the acquisition of Centaur Media’s home interest division for £32m.
The deal, which Future will part pay for by issuing new shares worth £22m, brings the three key brands to the group’s portfolio – Homebuilding & Renovating, Period Living and Real Homes.
Over recent years Future has widened its business interests from traditional print and digital publishing to include e-commerce, events and digital advertising built around brands such as Techradar, PCGamer.com, T3 and The Photography Show.
Its magazine division has more than 100 publications spanning technology, games, music, film, photography, creative & design, field sports and science & knowledge.
