Regional accountancy firm Bishop Fleming, which has an office in Bath, has promoted three directors to partner as it continues to keep pace with a growing demand for its services. The three include Bath-based John Talbot, who joined the firm just over a year ago as audit director.
John has nearly 20 years’ accounting and auditing experience. He is experienced in a wide range of commercial sectors, from technology and professional services to manufacturing and leisure and hospitality start-up businesses, and not-for-profit organisations, including charities and academies.
Before joining Bishop Fleming, John worked in national firm BDO’s Bristol office for 11 years, most recently as a director, and also spent seven years with Big Four firm Ernst & Young (now EY) as an assistant manager.
Bishop Fleming, which provides accounting, tax, corporate restructuring and advisory services to businesses and not-for-profit organisations, as well as private wealth advice to individuals, has also appointed Isobel Savage and Nathan Coughlin to the partnership.
All three promotions are in recognition of the individual’s outstanding contribution to the firm, together with their strong focus on delivering client service.
Isobel, who is promoted from tax director in the firm’s Exeter office, brings a strong commercial and broad technical background to the partnership, having previously worked in corporate tax for EY and regional practice Old Mill.
She has wide-ranging experience of working with owner-managed businesses, helping tie personal aims in with corporate goals and planning, and also has many years’ experience at maximising research and development claims for clients.
Nathan was previously audit director in Bishop Fleming’s Plymouth office. He specialises in the audits of companies as well as organisations in the not-for-profit sector, including education and social housing, and works closely with clients to build a deep understanding of their business and help them find practical solutions to problems.
He developed his strong technical skills in the audit practice of Big Four firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (now PwC).
Bishop Fleming managing partner Andrew Sandiford welcomed the trio to the partnership, saying: “Isobel, Nathan and John all have a great depth of technical expertise and experience within their sectors. Their elevation to partner is well deserved and fits in with the firm’s strategy of growing our key advisory services to clients.
“This is an exciting time for the firm as we pursue a number of strategies for growth. These three new partners bring to the firm a passion for delivering fantastic client service, which will enhance our growing team.”
The firm also has offices in Bristol, Torquay, Truro and Worcester. It is ranked as number 30 in the Accountancy Age league table and 26th in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For.
