Bath’s recently opened £35m Apex Hotel has marked its arrival in the city by announcing a season-long partnership with Bath Rugby.
The four-star hotel – the city’s largest – announced its new role as the club’s official hotel partner at this year’s Bath Rugby shirt sponsor dinner, which was held in its events space.
Under the partnership the 177-bedroom Apex City of Bath Hotel on St James Street West will be the recognised provider of first-class accommodation to both Bath Rugby fans and away supporters.
Rugby-loving guests will be able to enjoy a match-day experience that combines staying at the stylish hotel – with its first-class leisure facilities, including a gym and pool, and food from award-winning head chef Ben Abercrombie – with a short walk to The Rec for the game.
Hotel general manager Tim O’Sullivan said: “We are proud to become the official hotel partner of Bath Rugby and to offer a premium four-star experience for rugby fans within the heart of Bath.
“The partnership will allow us to offer unique experiences for rugby fans throughout the UK and beyond, along with help and support to Bath Rugby through providing access to our purpose-built meeting rooms and conference facilities.”
Bath Rugby managing director Tarquin McDonald added: “Apex Hotels is a world-class brand and shares many values with ourselves, so we’re delighted to be partnering with the hotel. The team at Apex are true rugby supporters, so they know how to enhance a day out or weekend at the rugby in Bath. We look forward to developing the partnership over the coming months.”
The opening in Bath has taken Apex’s portfolio to 10 hotels across the UK. The hotel includes Bath’s only purpose-built city centre conference facility, with capacity for 400 delegates.
