Peasedown St John-based Halsall Construction has been appointed as the main contractor to build the East Melksham Local Centre by developer Guildhall Estates.
Building work on the mixed-use development will start over the next few months. The development, on a site close to the A3102, will include six shop units, anchored by a Morrisons Local store, and 16 apartments. Work is expected to finish early next year.
Halsall managing director Andy Corp said: “As a local contractor we are delighted to be working on this project that will provide important infrastructure as the community grows in the East Melksham area.”
Other companies working on the project include Bristol architects GCP, engineers BSP Consulting and Concept as project managers. Letting agents for the retail units are Kavanaghs.
Halsall Construction is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bath-based Shepperton Group.
