Specialist construction consulting firm Voloco has opened its second office as it expands its reach into the East of England.
The Marshfield-based firm’s new base in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, is headed by newly-recruited partner Kevin Robinson.
Voloco was founded in 2014 to provide services to construction and development companies during peak workloads.
It has grown significantly over the past year, recruiting seven new staff members to take its total workforce to 10 over that period.
Its new office will provide the full range of the firm’s bespoke flexible and responsive services, which range from quantity surveying (QS) and cost, bid and design management to graphics support.
Kevin Robinson, pictured, a senior quantity surveyor (QS), most recently worked for the Ministry of Defence, where he was responsible for overseeing UK projects.
He brings more than 30 years’ construction sector experience, having undertaken commercial and project management roles for firms such as Multiplex Construction, Coulson & Son and Wates Construction, where he worked with Voloco CEO Ben Webb in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Ben said: “After such a successful 2020, it’s brilliant to be starting 2021 with a larger team and a new office in Cambridgeshire, which will help drive our growth in the East of England.
“Kevin is an experienced QS with a wealth of local knowledge, and he’s my first choice to lead our new operation.”
Kevin added: “I’m excited to be working with Ben again and establishing Voloco in the east. When Ben approached me with this great opportunity, I knew instinctively it was the right next step.
“I’m keen to provide support to companies in the east of England, an area I know inside out as it’s where I grew up.”
Voloco has a national pool of clients including ISG, Integral, Hexagon Construction, BECT and Brookes Property and also supports small and growing contractors that do not have the manpower or capabilities in-house.
