Bath manufacturing and food and drink firms can learn about exporting to North America in a pair of free events hosted by the Department for International Trade (DIT) next week.
The two masterclasses take place at DIT’s Export Hub next Thursday at Bristol Port, Avonmouth, between 9.15am and 2:15pm.
Each session will focus on how a specific sector can tap into opportunities in North America with manufacturing at 9.15am and food and drink at 12.30pm.
Experts from DIT in North America and law firm Thorelli & Associates will offer practical advice on how firms can succeed in the North American marketplace.
As part of DIT’s Exporting is GREAT campaign, the Export Hub is touring the country, hosting a series of events to help businesses trade overseas. The events will provide essential information on the benefits of exporting and the key steps and processes that need to be considered. Businesses will also learn about the ongoing support available from DIT.
DIT head of South West Paul Shand said: “North America is the largest and most competitive economy in the world. It’s the UK’s top export destination and has already proven to be a lucrative market for ambitious UK companies looking to sell overseas. But there’s a lot to consider. For instance, tastes and demand differ from state to state, as do trade regulations and taxation.
“I’d encourage businesses from across the South West to join us at the Export Hub to find out how they can export to North America and grow their business. The series of events will inspire, educate and support SMEs as they look to explore overseas markets. Many of the region’s companies are successfully trading overseas, but there are so many more that could emulate their success.”
Businesses of all sizes can register to visit the event here.
