Fans of crime drama will be able to read more about their favourite TV shows, films and novels in a new magazine to be launched by Bath-based media group Future.
Crime Scene, which hits the shelves on September 15, will be published quarterly and will give readers a more in-depth insight into what they watch, read and play.
It will cover the hottest crime dramas such as Sherlock, True Detective, Fargo and The Bridge to the latest novels from bestselling crime authors such as Ian Rankin and James Ellroy. It will include opinion, analysis, previews, full of in-depth articles and interviews.
Future, a market leader in specialist popular culture entertainment with titles such as Total Film, science fiction and fantasy magazine SFX, GamesRadar+ and Comic Heroes, said Crime Scene would tap into the spiralling demand for crime fiction in the UK – a market worth nearly £200m.
Crime Scene editor Rosie Fletcher said: “The crime drama genre couldn’t be hotter right now so it’s an exciting time to be launching a glossy magazine celebrating everything that makes it so compelling.
“Featuring named contributors and some of the best writers in the industry, Crime Scene is a passionate, in depth look at one of the most fascinating genres around.”
Future head of content and marketing, film, games and music, Declan Gough, added: “Future has a 30-year history of being the voice of passionate communities with its magazines, websites and events.
“Crime Scene is created by enthusiasts who are expert editorial creators with unbeatable links to the publishing and broadcast industries.
“With Total Film, Future has close links with the film and TV sector, producing one of the world's biggest monthly entertainment titles. With SFX magazine, Future leads the market in coverage of the science fiction and fantasy world, and has been the media partner of many prestige genre publishing events and awards.”
Crime Scene will be priced at £7.99. A digital version will also be available.
