Biotechnology firm Advetec has appointed a customer success director as it seeks to strengthen client relationships, drive value and pursue further growth.
Will Garrard has joined Advetec, based near Trowbridge, from KEW Technology, a Midlands-headquartered developer of sustainable energy systems, where he was operations director.
Will, pictured, has held several senior management and operational roles in tech growth businesses throughout his career.
He has a track record of improving operations, service and delivery in the waste processing, engineering, construction and clean-tech sectors across Europe and the Americas.
In his new role at Advetec, Will is charged with helping the firm ensure customer success is central to everything it does while aligning with business goals and scaling its products, services and reach.
Advetec’s client portfolio includes businesses in the waste and local authority sectors, including Coastal Recycling, Go 4 Greener, JWitt Waste Recycling and Max Recycle, and its newest addition Comhairle nan Eilean Siar Council in Scotland.
The firm’s biotechnology stabilises, reduces and repurposes non-recyclable waste that would otherwise be sent to landfill or for incineration by turning it into an alternative fuel called Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF).
Advetec said this presented a highly sought-after and cost-friendly solution in the face of rising landfill costs and the inclusion of energy from waste into the emissions trading scheme.
Advetec chief executive officer Lee Knott described Will is a huge advocate for value and quality as defined by the customer.
“He recognises the need to put the customer firmly at the core of everything we do,” he said.
“He shares our commitment to nurture relationships and add value as customers’ needs evolve, and we’re delighted to welcome him to our team.”
Will added: “Advetec is an incredibly innovative and exciting business, which has already made great strides in presenting biotechnology as a simple, accessible and cost-effective way to turn waste once deemed worthless into a commodity.
“My focus for the next few months will be to build on the excellent foundations already in place.”
Advetec launched in 2000 as a science and engineering company, providing specialist business-to-business solutions for the treatment of liquid effluent and waste, at source.
