Bath accountancy firm Richardson Swift has taken on more staff and additional office space as demand for its specialist business advice and payroll services grows.
Among the new joiners are associate director Tom Baines, who arrives from Berkeley Hamilton in Gloucester, where he was an associate partner.
Prior to this Tom, who has more than 30 years’ experience advising family-run businesses, spent 18 years with the Old Mill Group, where he became a corporate partner.
Richardson Swift has also taken on Rob Tompkins, who joins the firm as payroll manager from the Shaw Trust charity in Bristol, where he held a similar position.
With more than 20 years’ experience working in payroll in the charity and insurance sectors, Rob will be looking after the payrolls of Richardson Swift’s business clients.
Other new arrivals include receptionist Lucille Walmsley and accounts assistants Claire Fullbrook and Ellie Weston.
The firm, which currently occupies 2,000 sq ft in Laura Place, is taking an extra 1,000 sq ft in the same building.
This will provide much-needed desk space for the new arrivals plus more staff in the future as the firm continues its steady growth. Employee numbers have grown from 18 to 27 over the last couple of years.
Richardson Swift director Debbie Boulton said: “We’re very pleased to welcome so many new faces to the team at what is an exciting time of expansion for the firm.
“Tom has many years’ experience advising owner-managed businesses and their families on tax and business matters, so we are delighted to have him on board.
“And Rob will ensure that we continue to provide an efficient and professional payroll service to our growing number of business clients. We also wish Lucille, Claire and Ellie success in their new positions.”
