Award-winning independent financial advisory firm Jones Hill has been taken over by Perspective Financial Group, the highly acquisitive national financial planning and wealth management group.
Bradford on Avon-based Jones Hill is Perspective’s 36th acquisition since it was founded in 2008 and its first since CBPE Capital’s major investment in the group last December.
Jones Hill will become part of Perspective’s long-established Marlborough office, though the office in Bradford on Avon will remain open as one of Perspective’s 17 bases across England.
Jones Hill was founded in 1996 in Trowbridge before moving to Bradford on Avon in 2014 where it has established a strong client base under managing director Brian Hill.
It has established a niche for advising ex-military personnel and their families and currently advises 160 clients and manages £44m of client assets.
Jones Hill was rated by VouchedFor as the third highest-rated sole practitioner firm in the UK.
It was also a regional finalist for Best Pensions Advice Firm of the Year in 2017 and Financial Adviser Firm of the Year the previous year.
Mr Hill, pictured, is leaving the business while Jones Hill’s other staff will transfer to Perspective. Two staff members will join Perspective’s highly respected in-house training academy where they will continue to develop through working towards advanced financial planning qualifications under the guidance of experienced advisers who provide on-the-job training and support.
Perspective chief executive officer Ian Wilkinson said: “This acquisition is consistent with our overall growth strategy to acquire quality client banks from IFAs looking to retire or exit the industry, local to our existing office network, as well as opening new hubs in other carefully selected locations.
“It reinforces our position as the consolidator of choice for IFAs in this position.
“We believe our offering for these types of business is very compelling with our strong client-centric, ethical approach providing an excellent home for the retiring or exiting IFA’s clients, and our appealing deal structure.”
Brian Hill added: “After 15 years in financial planning, I felt it was the right time to seek new challenges. Although there were quite a number of interested firms, it was clear early on that Perspective’s tried and tested approach would help secure our client’s financial planning needs and provide a stepping stone for Jones Hill staff.
“It is testament to a shared ethos that we completed the entire process during lockdown and turbulent market conditions.”
Lancashire-based Perspective employs 180 staff and serve more than 18,000 clients. It has been listed in the FT’s Top 100 Financial Advisers table since 2011.
