Bath-based law firm Stone King has advised on the Institute of Financial Planning’s (IFP) merger with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI).
Caroline Leviss, pictured, a senior associate in the firm’s corporate and commercial team, and colleagues Peter Woodhouse and Amy Berry handled the legal aspects of Bristol-based IFP’s transfer of its business to the CISI.
The Institute of Financial Planning, which had a membership organisation with more than 2,000 members, said the move was a step forward for the UK financial planning profession.
Stone King, which also has offices in London and Cambridge, offers specialist advice in a range of areas including employment and HR, commercial property, construction law, intellectual property, dispute resolution and transport as well as expert legal advice on setting up and developing a business.
It employs nearly 200 people across its practice teams, including 29 partners and 85 fee earners. It plans to open its fourth office – in Leeds – next spring.
