Budget airline Ryanair is to introduce a twice-weekly service from Bristol Airport to the Italian city of Bologna from April 1.
The service will be the third to Italy operated by Ryanair from Bristol, joining its flights to Milan (Bergamo) and Venice. The flights will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Bologna in Northern Italy is regarded as the leading city for Italian cuisine. It will become the eighth Italian city served from Bristol Airport and Ryanair’s 29th destination from the airport.
Bristol Airport aviation director Shaun Browne said: “We are delighted to welcome this new route which offers passengers a direct service between Bristol Airport and Bologna for the first time.
“The Italian market continues to grow, and the launch of this new service demonstrates the demand for Italian destinations from passengers in the South West and South Wales.”
