Bath law firm Mogers Drewett has become a senior corporate partner of The Forever Friends Appeal Cancer Care Campaign having raised £25,000.
The firm joins an exclusive group as the second senior corporate partner in support of the new cancer centre at Bath’s Royal United Hospital.
To celebrate its achievement Mogers Drewett will receive a room-naming opportunity in the new centre as a lasting acknowledgement of its support.
A senior corporate partner plaque was recently presented to Mogers Drewett by The Forever Friends Appeal’s head of fundraising Tim Hobbs.
Mr Hobbs said: “Mogers Drewett has been an incredible supporter of The Forever Friends Appeal for over a decade. Their recent achievement of raising £25,000 for the new cancer centre will make a truly significant difference to the lives of our cancer patients at the RUH.”
Mogers Drewett, which also has offices in Frome, Wells and Sherborne, has supported The Forever Friends Appeal and the RUH for 15 years and has been involved with several fundraising campaigns including the ‘Space to Grow’ campaign for the new Dyson Centre for Neonatal Care.
Each year the Mogers Drewett team has been involved with the Bath Half Marathon and Ted’s Big Day Out as well as creating various other fundraising initiatives.
Mogers Drewett began its fundraising for the Cancer Care Campaign in 2012 and came on board as the headline sponsor for Ted’s Big Day Out, and has continued this sponsorship to include Ted’s Big Bake Off launched last year.
As part of its sponsorship Mogers Drewett has helped organise a regional schools competition, donating prizes and visiting schools. This not only helps raise more awareness and funds for The Forever Friends Appeal, but presents creative opportunities for children to learn more about their local hospital.
Mogers Drewett teams have taken to the streets of Bath in the city’s annual half marathon and have been dressed down, baked treats and brought their teds to work for Ted’s Big Day Out.
In 2014 a team of 11 literally walked on fire – taking part in the Firewalk challenge and going barefoot over 1,000°F hot coals.
Mogers Drewett managing partner Steve Treharne said: “Over the last few years we have been proud to support this very important charity by raising vital funds and awareness in the local community.
“We are firm believers in the importance of businesses giving back to the communities in which they operate and the RUH Forever Friends Appeal has been an excellent vehicle for us to do just that.
“I would urge other local businesses to consider doing the same. We are very grateful to receive this plaque in recognition of our corporate partner status and I would like to thank every member of the Mogers Drewett team who have contributed to the fundraising efforts and are the ones who deserve the praise.”
