WPC Software, the Keynsham-based developer of IT systems for UK police forces, is strengthening its management team and launching a recruitment drive as it continues to expand into new sectors.

Rejoining the firm as business manager in charge of its vetting management software is Dave Kelly, pictured. He left five years ago having previously worked at WPC for nine years.

He was most recently a software developer at Bristol-based Alterian, which was taken over by SDL. Dave takes up his new post as WPC moves into new markets with its investigation management tool Crimson, originally developed for trading standards teams and police forces.

WPC is also launching a recruitment drive for experienced and graduate software developers with degrees in computing or related subjects. The new staff will be working on WPC’s existing suite of systems for managing missing people, alcohol licensing, abandoned vehicles and staff vetting.

WPC Software managing director Glenn Bewes said: “We are delighted to welcome Dave back to the team as we develop our next generation of software solutions.

“WPC has great experience helping police solve the information management challenges they face, and to work more efficiently and collaboratively. We are now using that experience to develop cost-effective solutions for other sectors outside of the police market.”
