Neighbourly, the innovative community-business connector with a base in Bath, has been recognised as one of Britain’s most disruptive companies.
The firm, which is based at Bath’s Innovation Centre, appears in global publisher Bloomberg’s Business Innovators list alongside business game-changers such as Deliveroo, Crowdcube, GoCardless, Secret Escapes, MADE.com and Metro Bank.
Neighbourly, which connects community projects and charities with people and businesses that want to help, is included just 18 months after its launch. It is also one of just five businesses in a category called Changing Thinking.
Neighbourly’s highly innovative platform provides a valuable service to companies such as Marks & Spencer, Starbucks and Ovo Energy.
Founder Nick Davies said: “Bloomberg describes their Business Innovators list as companies changing the way we live, work, think and act. We’re hugely proud to have made the cut in 2016, but our ambition is to help any business fit that description.
“Business has a massive opportunity to use its campaigning skills to lead change in a way that everybody wins. Local people will volunteer alongside local staff and re-discover what it means to ‘Be Neighbourly’.”
Since its launch, Neighbourly clients have pledged more than £2m, staged 8,250-plus volunteer days and backed nearly 300 causes. The firm also has a base at Bristol’s Engine Shed innovation hub.
